I’ve been floating at Float North about a year and once a month through my entire pregnancy. It has offered me time to stretch and allow my joints and skeletal system expand as my body adapts and builds new life. I have not had any back pain during my pregnancy and very mild hip discomfort. I slept not as terribly as expected and I think it is partially due to my floats. My favorite experience though is when the water feels like you are in jello because your body is so still and baby moves or kicks and there are ripples. My last float as the lights came on, baby start to move and kick and I imagined how it must feel to see light outside the womb and hear music for the first time. It was a bit magically to imagine coming Earth side. Recommend trying to all my fellow pregnant people!

I had not considered “floating” before as a therapeutic treatment for those with Cancer or other health issues before I met Dana and actually tried a float. I do remember the old days when the concept of “Isolation Chambers” when they first came out but this experience of floating is completely different and gave me maximum confidence. Dana, the owner and her team gave me complete confidence to “take the plunge” and immerse myself in the new, “floating experience” and it was, to say the least, enlightening. Now, you could pay thousands of dollars to have a “Zero Gravity” experience and go up in a plane for 15 minutes of feeling like you’re floating in space and then get sick afterwards so Dana’s Float North immersion experience is a much easier and comfortable experience and reasonably priced! You can get almost the same experience as going up in the “Vomit Comet” as you would floating at FLOAT NORTH. Albeit, less movement and jumping around but nonetheless still get to feel like you’re weightless. As someone with an Ostomy and Stoma on my belly I was worried about immersion and had the staff check me out before I plunged into tub. What happened?Nothing to worry about..at the level of Salts and concentration levels allows your body to get immersed a little more than half way. So no worries for us Ostomates who have a bag or worrying about getting a leak.. Combined with the gentle Ambience music (of your choosing) and the patient and helpful staff explaining step by step what’s going to happen and how to use float tubs you don’t have to worry about anything! So, floating not only works as relief for Cancer patients like myself but anyone else who has health or stress issues..you can have some real peace of mind and feel great afterwards. And, true to Dana’s staff’s words..I slept like a baby that night and was relaxed completely the next day. If this was anything like feeling you’re still “in the Womb” while floating in temperature controlled waters with Bath Salts and Ambient music, then this is it. To get even more out of the experience, to really bring down your Stress level or you’re looking for more healing powers I’d do the Float and Massage experience next time and really chill out to the max!
