I had been suffering from lateral epicondylitis, commonly known as tennis elbow, for some time and decided acupuncture might be able to provide relief from the chronic pain where other treatments had come up short. I had heard of Centered Healing through a trusted friend so I scheduled a free consultation. From the outset Helen inquired about my health beyond this primary concern and her treatment was designed to focus on my elbow but also treat my whole person as well as my spirit. She treated me with a combination of acupuncture, e-stim, cupping and Gua Sha. Here are some things that really pleased me. She was so knowledgeable and thorough as well as sensitive to my needs. Helen’s passion for her work was obvious and encouraging. It was clear she designed my treatment specifically for Me. She offered suggestions for additional treatment (Chinese herbs, liniment) but was never pushy. She consistently inquired about my progress and was a great listener. The space at Centered Healing was very soothing and inviting with high ceilings, thoughtful decor, pleasant sounds and scents and a feeling of retreat even though it is in the center of the city. My elbow pain did resolve after a 6 week course of treatment and I cannot recommend Helen Spieth highly enough as an exemplary and gifted care provider. Thank you!

I came to see Helen after months of navigating hormonal imbalances (including irregular periods and trouble staying asleep) and recurrent eczema after the birth of my daughter. Although I had seen acupuncturists and experienced the healing properties of Chinese medicine before, Helen stands out as bringing a particularly holistic lens to her work. She takes the time to listen to my symptoms and describes each treatment in depth, often using helpful metaphors and images to help me understand how her approach will work in the body. Within a month of seeing Helen, my symptoms subsided and have continued to improve. I look forward to each of my sessions and feel cared for, rested, and energized after each treatment. The office is a wonderfully calming space and both Helen and Katlyn (the office manager and patient care coordinator) have given me excellent recommendations for other resources that work in tandem with Helen's treatments. I could not recommend Centered Healing more as a place to invest in your well-being from the inside-out.

The thought of acupuncture definitely made me a bit nervous at first but I can’t argue with the results. I have the worst trouble relaxing and sleeping and a number of conditions and medications that cause nausea. Helen has done wonders with all of the above. I have fallen asleep on her table more often than I haven’t. She has also worked with me to address my anxiety with needles and communicating my needs and feelings during and after insertion of the needles. She can use smaller needles or not insert them very far to help get you adjusted to the feeling. Some stimulation is still better than none. She gives me a buzzer to press if I’m ever experiencing discomfort and regularly reminds me this works best when I am able to relax during (and after) the process. Helen really has a holistic approach and I appreciate the knowledge she is able to impart.
