Ariana had done such an amazing job teaching a room that was truly mixed level. While my friends and I were only doing our first class, there were also some girls who were much more advanced, and Ariana made it so that way everyone was able to practice and learn together at their own skill level. Not to mention- the class was just so much fun! 10/10 would recommend!!
I’ve been attending classes at this studio for the past four years, and while many have left a mark, it’s Jen Gomez’s Yin class that has truly changed me. I first found her class during one of the hardest moments of my life—after the sudden loss of my mother. In that season of deep sorrow, Jen’s class became so much more than just stretching or slowing down. It became a place to breathe again. To feel what I didn’t have words for. To move emotions through my body in a way that was grounding, healing, and deeply human. Jen holds space with a quiet strength and calming presence that makes you feel safe to just be. Her Yin practice helped me learn to sit with pain instead of run from it. To drop into stillness, into breath, into the parts of my body that were holding so much. It’s been one of the most meaningful parts of my healing journey—mind, body, and spirit. If you’re looking for a class that goes beyond the physical, that meets you where you are and helps guide you inward, Jen’s class is the one. I’m endlessly grateful for her and this studio for creating such a sacred space.
If you are looking for an aerial class, definitely give Cleveland Studio a try! My daughter has been doing aerial on and off for about 4 years. We had a studio we loved in Columbus, but since moving to Cleveland, have been looking for the perfect spot. We think we found it here. What made this lesson great? The atmosphere, the instructor, the equipment, the owner, and the staff. Atmosphere: No surprise that aerial has to be done in a place with space and high ceilings. This can mean classes are in a warehouse that make you feel like you are doing classes in, well, a warehouse. 🙂 Cleveland Studio's combination of decor and warmth give this location an A+ for atmosphere. Instructor: Most aerial instructors know what they are doing. I say most because if you try a class at a place that specializes in competitive dance or cheer, you may end up with an instructor that doesn't really know how to do aerial (we know from experience). The instructor at Cleveland Studio, Jen, is very knowledgeable and has an awesome teaching style (can tell as well as show what to do). She made us feel comfortable and was able to adjust the class so that participants of all skill levels were able to have fun. Equipment: Obviously, rigs need to be installed correctly for safety. This has been pretty consistent from place to place. The silk material, however, hasn't been. At the aerial studios that seem to know what they are doing, the silk material is low stretch. At the one dance/cheer studio we tried, the silk material was high stretch. This, according to my daughter, changes the game quite a bit and made her a little nervous about doing some of the moves. Given that this studio was the lone studio with the high stretch material, coupled with the fact that the instructor was not very experienced, have me thinking that this is NOT the way to go (and the dance/cheer studio may not know what they are doing). I could be wrong, of course. Also, we have been at studios with minimal padding under the silk, have silks too close together, or have just too many students in a class. Cleveland Studio's setup is optimal for class setting (four silk max) and made my daughter feel safe and confident about doing the moves. Owner: While we haven't had a lot of interaction with the owner, we did reach out ahead of time about our daughter joining a class (we weren't sure what class to put her in given her age and experience). The owner responded to our message quickly and kindly. It may seem like a small thing that should be a given, but we have had experiences where the owners didn't take the time to extend even the smallest amount of courtesy, which is typically a red flag. Staff: Other than our instructor, we were greeted by lady working at the front desk. She took the time to make us feel welcome and showed us around the studio. She answered our questions and was a delight to interact with. Again, maybe this doesn't seem like a lot, but it helps to confirm that a lot of care has been put into this studio. My daughter is looking forward to her next classes! Thanks Cleveland Studio!
