Dragonfly Ranch is such a beautiful and unique little spot. We only stayed for one night, but this place is quite memorable and so was Barbara. The staff is very sweet and welcoming, including the cats and dogs on the property. The space itself is definitely quirky, like other reviews have mentioned, but there is a personal charm to every room and community area on the property. We were the only ones staying here during the off-season, so our experience may differ from most people's, but we were very well taken care of and the quiet nature of the place was wonderful. The sound of the frogs at night and seeing all the tiny geckos made the experience even more rewarding. If you have time to check out the property in its entirety, the Illuminarium is a beautiful place to have a quiet moment and reflect. There is a lack of privacy, with big screen windows and outdoor bathrooms, but it feels very safe and non-invasive. Come with an open mind. This is definitely not the place for everyone, but if you would like to be close to Hawai'i nature and enjoy a secluded space, then this is a great spot. We would highly recommend staying here and would love to come back again in the future!

We LOVED our stay at the Dragonfly Ranch. My kids were obsessed with all the geckos and the short hike up to the Illuminarium. They don’t want to leave. The frogs are quite loud at night, and my son says he can’t sleep without them now, he loved it. Haha. The hosts were welcoming, generous, and loving. They feel like family after just a few days. This is not your typical hotel experience, don’t expect that. It is more like glamping at a spiritual retreat tucked into the Hawaiian jungle. Breakfast was healthy, refreshing, & filling. The filtered water tastes amazing, best water we’ve had in Hawaii. And there are tons of books to read if you like personal & spiritual development. The common kitchen & dining area is perfect for a group. This would be an awesome retreat location! I highly recommend this place, and we will be back! Thank you to Barbara & Riøn in particular 💛

This is not a stay for everyone. Read the reviews. For anyone who loves to hear nature sounds and feel the breezes it is wonderful!! The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Other guests have been very chatty. We stayed in the writer's studio and had plenty of room for our family of 4 to spread out and be at home. One caution, there are steps and inclines everywhere. There is a step into the bathroom, another step up inside the bathroom and a step down into the shower. There is either a fairly steep incline or steps to get to breakfast. The floor of the shower is large rocks so very uneven surface. That may be no problem for some, but I have vertigo and it was a challenge at times. I highly recommend this place to nature lovers!
